Getting Involved
Faculty
HBS faculty members engage in social enterprise research, teaching, case development, course development, and other social enterprise activities in a multitude of ways. The integrated approach to social enterprise at HBS is built on the involvement of more than 75 faculty members within a multitude of academic units across the School.
- Faculty Seminars. The Social Enterprise Initiative Faculty Seminar series provides an opportunity for faculty members at HBS and Harvard University engaged and interested in topics relating to social enterprise to learn about faculty work in progress. For more information, please contact the Social Enterprise Initiative. HBS faculty and staff can click on Faculty Seminars to access seminar calendars by unit.
- Field Studies. Many faculty members throughout the School serve as supervisors to student field study projects that focus on social enterprise topics as they relate to the faculty member's area of expertise, research, or specialization.
- Research. Multi-faculty research projects provide opportunities for faculty members from different disciplines to collaborate to adapt their research within the context of social enterprise.
- Cases and Teaching Materials. With more than 400 social enterprise cases developed over the past decade, faculty members are able to draw upon social enterprise materials that support the central frameworks and objectives of their course.
- Community. Many faculty members participate in additional avenues of involvement in social enterprise programmatic activities, student club-sponsored events, and in Social Enterprise Initiative faculty meetings. Contact the Social Enterprise Initiative for more information.
