Description: Within the past few years, some innovative companies in different industries around the world have combined their separate financial and nonfinancial (e.g., corporate social responsibility or sustainability) reports into “One Report.” This integrated reporting also involves actively leveraging the Internet to improve the level of dialogue and engagement with all of their stakeholders. Integrated reporting is what a company can and should do if it has a sustainable strategy. But a sustainable society requires that most of its companies have sustainable strategies and the rapid and broad adoption of high–quality integrated reporting can play a critical role here. This seminar will give participants the opportunity to provide the presenter with feedback on the action strategy he is developing with others to make this happen. Key topics for discussion include:
- What is the best way to get companies to adopt integrated reporting out of their own self–interest?
- What is the role of analysts, investors, auditors and rating agencies in accelerating the adoption of integrated reporting?
- Should integrated reporting be mandated by law or regulation? How should these laws and regulations be written and enforced?
- What is the role of civil society?
