A Q&A session with Wendy Kopp on her personal growth and expanded aspiration for Teach For America. Moderated by Bill George, Professor of Management Practice and former Chairman and CEO of Medtronic.
Wendy Kopp proposed the creation of Teach For America in her undergraduate senior thesis in 1989 and has spent the last 15 years working to sustain and grow the organization. Now, more than 3,500 corps members are teaching in our country's neediest communities, reaching approximately 300,000 students. Under Kopp's leadership, Teach For America is in the midst of an effort to grow to scale while maximizing the impact of corps members and alumni as a force for short-term and long-term change.
Presented by the HBS Social Enterprise Initiative with Student Clubs of HBS, Social Enterprise Club and Entrepreneurship Club.
