Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship

Application Process

Fellowship Applicants must submit a complete application, resume, and business plan for the proposed venture by June 15.

Awards will be decided by the end of August each year and will be disbursed in two equal payments, subject to the Applicant's mid–term renewal report.
Mid–term renewal reports are due February 1 of each year and awards are approved for disbursement by March 1 of each year.

Award Processing

Fellowship awards are paid directly to the recipient in two installments. Because services are not provided directly to the Harvard Business School and accordingly do not represent salary compensation, recipients do not receive a 1099 for the HBS Fellowship. Harvard will not deduct taxes for U.S. Citizens from their award payments, but international recipients may have taxes deducted from their award payment (International recipients can check with the Harvard International Office for details). All recipients should consult with a tax advisor on how to report the fellowship award on their taxes.
