Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I forget my password for the HBS Recruiting System?
A: Review the Help Doc for detailed instructions.

Q: I'm an HBS alumnus/a but I do not know/remember my LEFA.
A: If you haven't activated your LEFA, please contact the Alumni Records Office at 617-495-6438 or alumni_records@hbs.edu. You may also choose to create an account while you wait to activate your LEFA. To do this please refer to the Account Creation/Self Registration section.

Q: I have some jobs on my dashboard that show up as Pending. What does that mean?
A: Upon submission, all job postings will be assigned Pending status as they await review and approval by HBS. Upon approval, a job posting will be assigned Posted status.

Q: My resume bundle will not download
A: If you are using Internet Explorer version 6 you may only have the option to save (not download) applications. In this situation, we recommend you save and open from your local files, or use a different browser.

Q: What should I do if I need to add a new interview schedule, list, slot, etc.?
A: Please contact your Recruiting Coordinator directly if you need to make any changes to your interview schedules.

Q: I can see the Closed List columns on my dashboard, but I'm not able to make any edits.
A: The Closed List column(s) will be hidden or read-only until the resume deadline for the job has passed.

Q: How much time will I have to review applications before deciding on my closed list?
A: You will have approximately one week to review applications. From the time they are received (the majority of students will submit applications less than a week before the resume deadline) to the closed list deadline.

Q: What if I need to make changes to my Closed List after the deadline has passed?
A: Contact your Recruiting Coordinator to make any changes to a list or schedule once the Closed List Deadline has passed.

Q: How and when will students be notified of their invitation to interview? Should I email them?
A: No, please do not send an interview invitation to students directly. As in years' past, all invitations for both primary and alternate closed lists will be sent from MBA Career & Professional Development once the closed list has been approved.

Q: Will I be able to see student responses to invitations on my dashboard?
A: No, you will not see student responses to invitations on your dashboard. Three business days prior to your interview, MBA Career & Professional Development will email you resume bundles for each of your schedules, which will indicate the students who have accepted your interview invitation.
