Events & Interviews

Career Hiring

There are many ways to interact with second-year students during the 2009/10 recruiting season. Participate in on-campus interviews, participate in a Networking Night, or conduct an on- or off-campus company presentation.

Interviews

If your organization would like to conduct interviews (on- or off-campus) for the 2009/10 recruiting season, please see the following.

Networking Nights

Second-year recruiting launches with a series of three Networking Nights on September 14 and 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Please note: Companies may choose to participate in a Networking Night or host a company presentation; however, companies may not participate in both.

  • Second-year class audience only
  • 30+ organizations from a group of industries
  • Allows discussion and networking in a more relaxed setting
  • Held in a reception hall, in which each company will be assigned a table
  • Career & Professional Development will provide all company signage
  • Companies who gave a first-year presentation during the previous recruiting season are strongly encouraged to select the Networking Reception instead of a company presentation

Company Presentations

As an alternative to Networking Nights, companies may choose the following:

On-campus Company Presentations

Sponsored by MBA Career & Professional Development throughout the year, on-campus presentations for second-year students may begin on September 21, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. Our office cannot guarantee that industry conflicts will not occur during these time slots.

Approximately 30-minute presentations are followed by 10 minutes for Q&A; catering is not permitted; and the events are held in on-campus classrooms, which seat 80-100 people. Classrooms are equipped with the following A/V equipment:

  • Computer with internet access
  • Projector with laptop connection cables
  • Large screen
  • VHS/DVD capabilities
  • Chalkboard
Off-campus Company Presentations

Off-campus presentations for second-year students may begin on September 21, 2009. All off-campus presentations must be approved through MBA Career & Professional Development and may not begin before 5:30 p.m. Companies must select from one of two time slots: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. or 7:45 - 9:45 p.m.

  • Presentations may not conflict with MBA Career & Professional Development-sponsored events.
  • All off-campus presentation dates must be approved by MBA Career & Professional Development.
  • Companies are responsible for managing all off-campus logistics.
