Career Treks
Career Treks offer an opportunity to meet a focused group of MBA students who are interested in learning about your company. Organized and executed solely by Harvard Business School students, Treks feature onsite company visits, distinguished speakers, and alumni panels. These events provide companies the opportunity to showcase their unique culture in a way that's not possible through traditional on-campus recruiting activities.
Company Participation
Companies have found Treks to be a time- and cost-effective way to reach a targeted group of candidates. Treks provide an opportunity for companies to educate students about both their organization and the industry of which they are a part. All participating companies receive a free, searchable database that includes the resumes of the HBS students attending your event and, although many companies do hire students through connections made during a Trek, the intent to hire is not a requirement for participation.
Structure
Treks typically feature onsite company visits where students travel directly to a company's office; alternatively, companies and students may choose to interact at a central location. Ten to twenty-five companies participate per trek, with each company presenting to a small group of students for about an hour. For onsite visits, effective presentations have included a tour of the facility and time for students to speak with company representatives on an informal basis. Past treks have taken place in locations including London, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago, Hong Kong, and New York City.
Sponsorship
While there is no participation fee, sponsorship of any amount is greatly appreciated and can provide additional exposure for your company through keynote events, industry panels, alumni mixers, or printed programs.
