Build Awareness Through Targeted Advertising
Whether you are new to recruiting at HBS or have a strong history of hiring our graduates, many students will be learning about your organization for the first time. There are many ways to make our students aware of the opportunities your organization has to offer. Optimize your recruiting effort and drive attendance to your company events by communicating directly to students through various channels.
Advertise your Recruiting Activities
The Career & Professional Development Office will notify students of all Career & Professional Development-sponsored events. We are committed to promoting all recruiting partners equally. Therefore, we do not send out communication to students on behalf of individual companies. When advertising, please specify the class audience (first-year/second-year students) you are targeting.
Guidelines
- All event advertising before November 2, 2009 must be clearly directed at second-year class of 2010 students only; there is no restriction as to when direct outreach to second-year students may begin.
- Generic advertising (brand awareness) to all students may begin after matriculation. Generic advertising through mass mailing, mailbox stuffing or student newspaper ads should not invite first-year students to events or ask/invite first-year students to contact the organization. Generic advertising (about working at a firm) is acceptable by former employees to their classmates.
- Direct outreach and event advertising to the first-year class of 2011 students may not begin before November 2, 2009. Direct outreach includes, but is not limited to, phone calls, letters and emails made directly by a company representative.
