Second-Year Events
There are many ways to interact with second-year students during the recruiting season. To schedule any of the following recruiting events, please review our event dates and submit your reservation request via Career Hub.
Recruiting Events
- Company Appointments
-
New this year, Company Appointments are HBS coordinated individual or small group sessions held on-campus. These scheduled meetings allow companies to meet with second-year students in assigned Spangler project rooms. Company Appointments can be scheduled through Career Hub and companies can choose from the following time slot durations:
- 20 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 45 minutes
- 60 minutes
Companies may initially request up to two rooms per day, as room availability varies. Spangler project rooms seat 6 people, with a maximum capacity of 10 people. Please refer to the recruiting dates for available days. Rooms are available on Mondays & Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Student sign-ups will be coordinated by HBS, through Career Hub. Students will sign-up for a time slot that does not interfere with their class schedule, thus maximizing attendance. Companies have the opportunity to reach out to students prior to the meeting to request student resumes and/or provide preliminary company information.
- Company Presentations (Off-Campus)
-
Company Presentations provide an excellent opportunity for a company to educate students about everything from the corporate culture to opportunities that exist for MBA students. Off-campus presentations for second-year students may begin on September 9th, 2013. All off-campus presentations must be approved through MBA Career & Professional Development and may not begin before 5:30 p.m. On-campus presentations for second-year students will not be offered this year.
- Presentations may not conflict with MBA Career & Professional Development-sponsored events.
- Off-campus presentations will be approved for 1.5 hours.
- Companies are responsible for managing all off-campus logistics.
- Content Presentations
-
Content Presentations are non-recruiting presentations (educational in nature, or focused on a specific topic of interest to students). Content presentation requests should be submitted via Career Hub and will be assigned a classroom on-campus. Content presentations are limited to four per semester; two of the four can be held prior to October 28, 2013.
- Must be open to both 1st and 2nd-year students
- Presentations last 45 minutes and typically follow a format of 30 minutes of content followed by 15 minutes of Q & A
- Presentations may not conflict with MBA CPD-sponsored events
- Catering is not permitted
- Other Recruiting Events
-
There are other ways to educate students about your company culture, career opportunities and recruiting practices. Examples of other recruiting events include receptions, coffee chats and dinners. Regardless of location and sponsor (including clubs and sections), recruiting events must be approved by MBA Career & Professional Development and adhere to our recruiting policies and guidelines.
