Mission

Addicaid’s mission is threefold as we seek to enable patients to find help and stay healthy, empower treatment centers to provide more effective solutions, and provide critical insights to insurance-providers.

Problem

Addiction treatment is complex and costly, and sufferers require long-term care, community support, personalized curriculums, and progress tracking to ensure sustained, verifiable recovery. These are challenging issues to monitor and difficult outcomes to measure.

We need to get more people into recovery and to stay in recovery. Of 30 million Americans struggling with addiction, less than 10% get help. Of those who do, less than 5% successfully maintain recovery.

Solution

Through self-reported information and public data, Addicaid creates custom treatment plans and matches up like-minded members to maintain accountability and provide support. Members can review their progress and receive ongoing suggestions based on their activity to make the most of their treatment.

Addicaid analyzes active and passive data to become increasingly effective for a diverse user base with the help of machine learning. Our unique combination of metrics will ultimately help reveal the root causes of addiction and identify the best methods for different disorder profiles.

Traction

The Addicaid MVP consisting of CBT-based goals with peer support, news, and meeting listings has 20,000 downloads just from App Store search. Our users are raving about Addicaid with superlatives. We are a top three addiction app in iTunes.

Solution validation

Studies show that most people recover by attending meetings and entering a community, getting professional help, and setting goals. Academic papers consistently reinforce the positive impact of online-based, self-directed methods of treating substance abuse disorders. Digital therapeutics, specifically online CBT,  has a 65% retention rate. By translating these services into an enjoyable, easy-to-use, beautifully designed technology platform, Addicaid creates unique value that can benefit society by reducing healthcare costs, crime, poverty, fatalities, and unemployment all by reducing the rate of relapse. Treatment facilities, healthcare professionals, sober/halfway houses, & support groups are our primary distribution outlets (~5m annual patient churn). Promotion on popular recovery websites with millions of visitors (http://aa.org, http://addiction.com, etc) will introduce Addicaid to people who are already seeking help or in the midst of recovery.

Hurdles
Customizing program to maintain retention and maximize efficacy for different comorbidities and situational challenges of recovery (i.e physical abuse trauma, expectant mothers in recovery, mood disorders).

Solutions
Conjoining Addicaid data insights with previous studies so we can form a clear picture of how different patient profiles experience addiction and what they value most in their recovery.
