“Rebuilding the Community’s Economy” Goal of 28th African American Student Union Business Conference


BOSTON -- Harvard Business School’s African American Student Union (AASU) is issuing what it describes as a call to action to restore the economic well being of the U.S. Black economy. The theme of this year’s AASU Conference, one of the most influential Black business conferences in the world, is Leading the Restoration: Black Business Achievement into the 21st Century.

Keynote speakers include Cornel West, University Professor of Afro-American Studies at Harvard University; David Steward, CEO of World Wide Technologies, voted Company of the Year by Black Enterprise magazine; and Les Brown, internationally recognized motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur.

The conference, which begins on Friday, January 28, 2000 at 7:30 a.m. in Kresge Hall with an alumni breakfast hosted by HBS Dean Kim Clark, continues through the weekend on campus and at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cambridge.
