BOSTON -- Dean Kim B. Clark presented Harvard Business School's highest honor, the Alumni Achievement Award, to five recipients today at a special presentation before students, faculty, and other members of the HBS community.
In keeping with a tradition that began in 1968, Dean Clark recognized D. Ronald Daniel (MBA 1954), director and former managing partner of McKinsey & Company, Inc., and former treasurer of Harvard University; Barbara Hackman Franklin (MBA 1964), president and CEO of Barbara Franklin Enterprises and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce; A.G. Lafley (MBA 1977), chairman, president, and chief executive of The Procter & Gamble Company; Minoru Makihara (75th Advanced Management Program, 1977), senior corporate advisor and former chairman, president, and CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation; and Donald P. Nielsen (MBA 1963), chairman of TeachFirst, Inc., former chairman, president, and CEO of Hazleton Laboratories Corporation, and former president of the Seattle School Board.
"The mission of the Harvard Business School is to educate leaders who make a difference in the world," observed Dean Clark. "Throughout their careers, these distinguished graduates have contributed significantly to their companies and communities while upholding the highest standards and values in everything they do. As such, they represent the best in our alumni body. Exemplary role models, they inspire all those who aspired to have an impact on both business and society."
