Harbus Foundation Awards Grants To Area Community Organizations

BOSTON -- Eleven community organizations in Boston and Cambridge that focus on education, after-school, and arts programs for high school-age students, will receive grants totaling $106,000 from the Harbus Foundation, the non-profit arm of the Harvard Business School student newspaper, The Harbus.

The recipients -- which include The Boston Arts Academy, whose $10,000 grant will be used to research and distribute an African Studies curriculum, and the Allston-Brighton Community Development Computer Collaborative, which will offer computer classes to low-income families -- were recognized during a reception on the Harvard Business School campus today, April 12.

This is the third year the Harbus Foundation has distributed funds to community-based organizations in the School's home communities of Allston-Brighton and Cambridge, as well as in other Boston-area neighborhoods.
