Haley Brown Writes the Case on Linda Oubré

View Video Haley Brown (MBA 2021) worked closely with Professor Debora Spar to write “Linda Oubré at Whittier College” while she was a student. She compares the case writing process to creating a treasure hunt. Brown appreciated the opportunity to write a case about a fellow woman of color, and that the case ensures that topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion are discussed in the MBA classroom.

View Video Professor Linda Hill’s innate curiosity allows her to learn every day and dig deep into the ideas and people she studies. Her research focuses on leadership, globalization, and innovation. Hill’s case studies, such as “Michael Ku and Global Clinical Supply at Pfizer Inc.: Bringing Hope to Patients,” illustrate how she likes to work—studying leadership over time and building strong relationships with the case protagonists.

Painting the Portrait of Jim Cash

View Video Gale Fulton Ross tells the story of how she created the Dr. James I. Cash portrait that now hangs in Cash House. Many months in the making, the oil painting is the most recent addition to the HBS Art Collection. Fulton Ross describes the challenges along the way and the joy she felt seeing the portrait for the first time in its new Harvard Business School home. This behind the scenes look at the making of a portrait expresses the surprise, delight, humor, and pride that accompanied this meaningful journey.
