The entire Harvard Business School Community mourns the passing on Oct. 30 of former Mayor Tom Menino, who had an extraordinary impact on the City of Boston and its inhabitants during his historic twenty-year term in office. From the economy and education to housing and healthcare, he made a difference in the lives of millions of people, providing an exemplary combination of leadership, vision, and accomplishment. A longtime friend of Harvard Business School as well, he was eager to support us in our efforts to bring to Boston thousands of MBA students and executives from around the world. Magnificient mayor of a miraculous city, he leaves behind an enduring legacy that is testament to a life well spent.
