Nevada Provides Test Case in Debate Over a Skills Gap
A study from the Harvard Business School blames a shortsighted response to global economic changes for the erosion of what was once an effective development system for middle-skill jobs. Employers are more inclined to invest in technology or hire part-time workers than spend money on training programs, according to the study, which surveyed thousands of the business school’s alumni. Companies have lagged in collaborating with community colleges to develop training programs.
