  • Summer Venture in Management Program A week-long event that exposes high-potential college students to the dyanamic HBS MBA and the exciting variety of opportunities a business degree creates.
  • Part I: Educating Leaders "I felt like this would be a perfect way for me to size up the campus to see if this was place I could see myself. And it was a great opportunity to really understand and appreciate the way leaders learn and the way that they do business once they leave HBS." - John-Marcus Phillips
  • Part II: Student Diversity "Harvard's ability to select individuals with very diverse and dynamic backgrounds is amazing. Actually sharing experiences and learning from my peers has been so important and its given me a better idea of what to do with my life." - Naiomi Bisram
  • Part III: The Case Method "My favorite part is the classroom experience, the case method. Its hard to believe how exciting it is and how fast class goes by. Everyone starts contributing and we've all prepared the night before. You learn a lot by the end and really surprise yourself." - Daniel Serna
  • Part IV: SVMP Impact "It definitely wasn't an easy decision; this was me stepping outside of my comfort zone, but I feel I'm at an age in my life where this is the time to step out or else I never will. This was the perfect opportunity and it was a good decision." - Mohammad Sharifi

  • What do you think prospective candidates should know about the program?

They should know that it will transform their way of thinking. They should expect to be motivated and inspired in ways that they haven't been before.

    Sarah Curtis-Bey,
    SVMP '97, MBA '06

  • In what ways do you think you most personally developed during that week?

My strongest development was in building a plan for where I wanted to go from there. It motivated me to think about business school as part of where I wanted to be in the future.

    Sarah Curtis-Bey,
    SVMP '97, MBA '06

  • How did you get interested in SVMP?

I initially heard about SVMP from a former graduate of HBS, and I talked to a couple of the former participants from SVMP as well.

    Terry (T.C.) Comer,
    SVMP '03, MBA '06

  • How would you describe the classroom experience?

In class, you have to be able to quickly break down the problems and tackle those problems that are central to the issue at hand.

"The most incredible self discovering experience of my life" is how I would describe the one-week I spent at Harvard Business School's Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP). More

Throughout the class period each expressed viewpoint is amalgamated into a building block or conglomeration and by the end you base your final decision, not so much on the facts, but more on the conviction and evidence presented by fellow classmates. More
