FUN FACTS ABOUT SHENZHEN:

The city has less than 30,000 residents left in the end of 1970s because of poverty and people smuggling to Hong Kong. But now there are over 12 million people living and working in Shenzhen. The average age of Shenzhen residents is stunning - less than 30 years old! Lots of young graduates find Shenzhen the first choice to start their career. Many of those who come to Shenzhen from rural areas of western China will typically quit their job after 5-8 years and go back to their hometown – get married, have a baby, and take over the lands from their farmer parents. Therefore, the city is full of young people coming and leaving almost every day. And there is literally no “local Shenzhener” – everyone is well respected and offered plenty of opportunity for work, education, and development.
