Timeline
May-August: Global Partner Commitment
Global Partners will identify and submit for review and approval by the FIELD Faculty one product or service category on which the student team will work.
Organizations will provide the Project Sponsor(s) name and contact details and agree to the Global Partner Policies.
Global Partners will sign the
Project and Team Agreements
.
Mid-October: Team Assignment
Students will be assigned to locations and Global Partners by mid-October.
October-early December: Pre-Arrival Work
Project Sponsor will provide information on the organization to the students so they can learn about the Global Partner and its markets;
Project Sponsor will be available for questions, information requests and 1-2 calls (potentially video conference/Skype) in the fall.
Student team will provide initial ideas to Project Sponsor.
Students will have limited time (~10-15 hours total, on average) to spend on the project during the fall semester.
January 6-14, 2013: On-Site Work
Students will be on-site. Project Sponsor will meet with students during time allocated for work between Monday and Friday. Specific schedule to be posted once confirmed.
Students conduct field interviews during this week to test and improve upon their project design ideas.
Functional experts
meet with student teams during this time to help students in their area of expertise as they complete the project work.
January 14, 2013: Team Presentation
Student teams will make their final presentation on Monday, January 14 to Project Sponsors and senior executives from the Global Partner.
Additional Key Dates
Student Vacation Dates
November 21-25, 2012: Students do not have class due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Students will not be available to work together as a team during this time.
December 7, 2012 - January 5, 2013: Students do not have class due to final exams and winter break. Students will not be available to work together as a team during this time.
Harvard Business School reserves the right to modify details of the Global Immersion program throughout the year.
