During the post-war era, American industry was in great need for clerical workers and Kelly’s idea of temporary office help became extremely popular among women (accounting for 95% of his workers). By the mid 1980s, Kelly had more than 750 offices in the United States, Canada, Europe and Puerto Rico. In 1986, in its 40th year of operation, Kelly Services was the first temporary agency to exceed $1 billion in revenues.
