A brilliant scientist, Ramo held 25 patents by the age of 30. He was responsible for much of the development of the Air Force’s ballistic missile, airborne radar, computer, navigation and armament control systems. He started his own company in 1953, and it merged with Thompson Products in 1958 to form TRW.
