Having joined the company immediately after college, Thomas was responsible for the largest wave of expansion in the history of his great-grandfather’s firm. In addition to introducing a line of electric clocks in 1927, Thomas also raised production of its traditional watches to two million per year. Under his leadership, the company’s capital increased from $600,000 to $1 million.
