Lefrak was the first private company participating in city-financed housing projects in the United States. His company completed several housing projects, such as King’s Bay in Brooklyn, Parc Vendome in Queens, and Lefrak City, a 40-acre, $150 million housing development, comprised of twenty 18-story buildings. Lefrak is credited with making several important contributions to the urban renewal of New York City.
