Haggerty led Texas Instruments into the manufacture of transistors - the first to make them cheaply enough to be commercially viable. During Haggerty’s tenure, the company expanded its overseas market (47 manufacturing plants in 19 countries), focused on new product development, and implemented Japanese-style management techniques to form the “TI culture.”
