Ruettgers was responsible for EMC’s focus on storage systems vs. memory boards – a move that enabled EMC to corner the storage network market and become one of the fastest growing companies in the United States. Ruettgers initiated a total quality management approach at EMC that further fueled its overall growth (1000%/year in the 1990’s) and reputation.
