Despite the distressed economic climate of the late 70’s, Harbin posted over a decade of revenue and earning gains for Halliburton, a multi-billion dollar oil services and construction firm. Under his leadership, revenues increased five-fold from $1.4 billion in 1972 to $7.3 billion in 1982 and earnings increased seven-fold from $66 million to almost $500 million. His performance placed Halliburton among the top 50 financial performers of all U. S. companies for 10 consecutive years.
