As the great-grandson of the company founder, Wiman was principally responsible for expanding and modernizing Deere’s operations, putting it on a path to become the largest and most successful supplier of large-scale agricultural equipment in the United States. Under his leadership, Deere’s business grew five-fold and the name John Deere became synonymous with quality and reliability.
