Samuel F. Hinkle
Starting as a chemist with Hershey, Hinkle played a prominent role in the development of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, Krackel, Mr. Goodbar and fortified chocolate bars issued as K, C, and D rations during World War II. As CEO, Hinkle put Hershey on a course for diversification – producing non-chocolate lines and opening new vending businesses. His leadership of Hershey was marked by almost 10 years of top level financial performance (one of the top 50 performers of all U.S. firms).
