Joseph A. Boyd
An academic engineer by training, Boyd was instrumental in leading Harris Corporation’s renewed focus on research and development. Under his tenure, Harris introduced a variety of new products including super-minicomputers, integrated work-group systems, and networked office automation configurations – some of the most advanced computer technology at the time. His focus on new product introductions led to a seven-fold increase in revenues from $310 million to over $2.2 billion. Earnings saw a similar growth pattern under his leadership.
