IT Governance

Technology plays a key role in all of the School's academic programs. We seek to create and deliver the best educational experiences from in-class exercises and simulations to online systems for everything from accessing grades to doing job searches.

For the last several years, the demand for software development resources has continued to increase for Administrative Computing. The Technology Projects Review Board (TPRB) was formed in January 2003 to establish and manage a governance framework and look after appropriate allocation of software development resources so that our technology activities are as aligned with the HBS mission as possible.

In 2006, the IT Resource Allocation Committee was formed to continue the work started by the TPRB. Led by the CIO, this seven-member committee comprises senior administrators from a number of the Schools' departments. This group meets monthly and has instituted practices related to defining and prioritizing of strategic projects for the HBS community as well as providing project oversight throughout the year. In addition, the Committee determines how IT development resources are allocated to different School functions and programs.
