We want nothing less than a completely technology-enabled environment in which everyone takes full advantage of IT to meet their goals. Two principles guide our way:
Immerse the community in technology
We completely surround the community with IT in all aspects of life at HBS—academics, career planning, student life, operations, and administration. Everything. Through constant exposure to technology, everyone at HBS builds information expertise and considers IT a normal part of daily life.
Give people the tools they need, and then get out of their way
We believe in "disintermediation"—creating easy-to-use, multipurpose Web-based tools, then sending them out into the community for people to use as they see fit. From creating polls to collaborating on projects, anyone at HBS can take advantage of IT on their own, without the time or expense of custom development. In turn, the community helps us push the boundaries of IT by using or combining technologies in ways we might not consider.
