_Technology-Enhanced Learning Group
HBS Executive Education's Technology-Enhanced Learning team focuses on products and services geared toward executives, academics, and teachers. These include:
- Multimedia Action Learning Resources for Executives: These resources bridge the gap between the on-campus executive education experience and the specific needs of one's company. These CD-ROM programs enable participants of specific custom or traditional Executive Education programs to learn business models as well as apply them to a specific company situation, both during and after a course. The computer-enhanced tools include short segments of faculty teaching in the classroom, video case examples, and workbooks.
- Faculty Seminars: For executives and academics around the world, HBS also produces a series of faculty seminars on CD-ROM and distributes these through HBS Publishing. By combining the viewing of the lectures with live videoconference sessions led by a faculty presenter, HBS Executive Execution is able to broaden the educational options of its corporate customers, providing on-campus participants with follow-up sessions when they return home, and enabling companies to educate a broader set of business leaders around the world than the small number who can be accommodated on campus.
- Resources for Case Teachers: For those who teach by the case method, HBS has produced a multimedia resource entitled Participant-Centered Learning and the Case Method to help instructors build skills and develop confidence for leading case discussions. The resource captures Professor David Garvin as he prepares and then teaches a class. It also captures video segments of seven other faculty members as they teach and provide commentary on diverse topics, from managing the timing the class to handling student applause.
