Wireless networking offers convenient access to online resources from almost anywhere on campus. Anyone in the HBS community can use the network to check e-mail, collaborate on projects, use the HBS Intranet, or surf the Web. And they can do it all from classrooms, on-campus cafés, Baker Library, the Spangler Center, and outdoor areas frequented by students. MBA faculty can request wireless access in any classroom for course-related events, exercises, and exams.
For example, wireless networking capabilities at Spangler include thirty breakout rooms with high-speed network connections, some with built-in audio-conferencing equipment and large plasma display monitors for group presentations; a 350-seat auditorium designed for live presentations, movies, and videoconferencing; multi-purpose rooms with built-in audio and video equipment; flat plasma display screens broadcasting up-to-the-minute event information; and back-end applications from air-conditioning monitors to networked time cards.
