To prepare for the rigors of the MBA Program, all incoming students complete required academic work before they arrive, in areas such as accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, and business writing. As a result, HBS can admit students from diverse backgrounds while making sure everyone has the basic skills they'll need for success.
Microeconomics of Competitiveness
This course on the determinants of competitiveness and economic development is offered through the Harvard Business School, but is open to graduate students from all parts of Harvard University. It is designed as a platform that can be taught not only at Harvard, but also at universities around the world. Content is shared via the Internet, and there are opportunities for interactions between the students at the different locations.

Quantitative Analysis Prematriculation:
This online course in quantitative analysis is designed for students with all levels of quantitative knowledge and is required for all incoming MBA students. The twenty-hour, Flash-based course is delivered over the Web in a series of modules based on a fictional consulting job in Hawaii.
