_JavaPoll
Our polling application, JavaPoll, combines ease of use with incredible control and flexibility. Anyone at HBS can create a poll in minutes, using a simple Web-based form on the HBS Intranet. Since it's connected to the HBS enterprise-wide database, the tool lets the author specify when to make the poll available and to whom; whether to keep responses anonymous; and whether, when, and how to make the results available to respondents. Polling serves everyone at HBS in myriad ways:
- Faculty use polls to enhance course work, from giving online exams to gaining student input before class. They often poll students for their initial reactions to an assigned reading, then use the results to enhance the next day's class discussion.
- Staff use polls to collect feedback on all types of products, services, and initiatives.
- Students use them to test project ideas, conduct research, hold elections, and survey classmates on important issues.
