I think that Harvard Business School was a perfect fit for me. In the first year we did not have to dedicate our courses to one specific industry. Instead, we were exposed to all different aspects of businesses and industries. It was a great experience to meet people interested in energy, banking--and even the music industry--without having to lock myself into healthcare so early on.
After digesting all of those varied perspectives of business, I felt ready to make an informed decision about my career path. I chose to go with my passion: healthcare. Being at HBS, surrounded by resources such as Harvard, MIT and the best hospitals in the world, has made launching my venture easier and extremely interesting. My plan after HBS is to run a biotech start-up company set in the neurodegenerative space with a fellow classmate. Its first product will be for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. We have used most of our time in the second year setting up the company, building the business plan, and working on technology transfer. |
