"HBS has allowed me to craft an MBA program that suits me. Because the degree is in general management, I am able to take classes in healthcare yet still have room to study other subjects such as organizational behavior, operations, and finance." Andrea Mitchell |
Students in Healthcare
Students interested in healthcare learn about all segments of the industry. Upon graduation they take jobs in pharma, biotech, and medical device companies; healthcare delivery, public health and international health organizations; and professional service firms such as venture capital, consulting, and banking.
Alumni in Healthcare
HBS MBA graduates have started healthcare businesses ranging from Potentia Pharmaceuticals to Whole Health Management. In fact, nearly half of our surveyed alumni have founded or co-founded one or more companies within 10 years of graduation. A significant number of these companies are in the healthcare industry. HBS alumni are prominent throughout the healthcare industry and include CEOs and senior executives in venture capital and consulting firms, managed care companies, healthcare delivery organizations, as well as the leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.
Healthcare cases are embedded throughout the first year curriculum in order to educate all students on the complexities and challenges of the healthcare industry.
