What kind of advantage do you think having an MBA will give you in the healthcare industry?
HBS has provided me with invaluable opportunities and essential resources to become a more detailed tactician, a more insightful strategist, and ultimately, a more effective general manager and leader in the healthcare industry. Through my interactions with students, faculty, staff, and alumni from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and industries, I have gained critical insights and unique perspectives that I will apply to my future roles in the healthcare industry.
What made you decide to pursue your MBA at HBS?
With a strong global mindset, diverse courses, and world-class facilities, HBS provides the ideal learning environment for future business leaders. Importantly, the HBS experience strikes the right balance between challenge and support to pursue and accomplish your goals. Both inside and outside of the classroom, the MBA program promotes the development of multi-functional skills necessary to be an effective general manager. The program allows students to take risks and to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zones and areas of expertise. The culture at HBS fosters an interaction between students, faculty, and alumni to build a lasting healthcare network.
Why would you recommend HBS for someone who wants to work in the healthcare industry?
The MBA program places great emphasis on and is committed to developing leaders who will positively impact the world, which is especially relevant to someone interested in a career in healthcare. HBS has been the ideal setting for me to broaden my interest in healthcare. I have supplemented my pre-MBA hospital volunteering, pharmaceutical sales, and healthcare investment banking experience with case-based situational analyses in the classroom and real-world teamwork and leadership opportunities through my involvement in various extracurricular activities. Through the Healthcare Club and in conjunction with the Healthcare Initiative, there are countless healthcare specific academic, extracurricular, and professional development opportunities.
“The culture at HBS fosters an interaction between students, faculty, and alumni to build a lasting healthcare network.”
