The John H. McArthur Canadian Fellowship provides financial assistance to Canadians to enable them to attend Harvard Business School and thereby acquire the leadership skills to make a lifelong contribution to Canadian society.
If you are from Canada and are accepted into the Harvard Business School MBA program, you may be eligible for significant incremental fellowship funds from the John H. McArthur Canadian Fellowship. As of 2011, if you are a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident who has lived in Canada for at least 7 years cumulatively prior to coming to HBS, you are eligible to apply. Eligible applicants will receive USD $20,000 ($10,000 per year) during their two years at HBS.
Please note that this fellowship is a non-need based award and is incremental to any existing HBS Fellowship*.
By helping to defray the costs of the MBA program, the John H. McArthur Canadian Fellowship seeks to amplify the message that all qualified Canadians are welcome at Harvard, regardless of financial ability. The Initiative also hopes to further remove debt burden considerations from job choice and early career decisions. It is the goal of these generous alumni that future Canadian graduates of Harvard Business School make lifelong contributions to Canadian society, from wherever their career paths take them.
Please submit a completed application by the deadlines below. If you choose not to apply for the Fellowship, remaining funds may be distributed to Canadian students with significant demonstrated financial need.
