Budhaditya (Adi) is a doctoral candidate in the Technology and Operations Management Unit at HBS. Adi is interested in innovation management and uses field research methods to study how healthcare organizations develop appropriate and affordable solutions for and in emerging markets. He conducts extensive fieldwork at medical device companies and hospitals in the US and India and is particularly interested in how institutional flexibility influences problem solving and design thinking. Adi also has specific research interests in reverse innovation; specifically how organizations transfer medical device and healthcare delivery solutions from developing countries to developed countries.
Adi holds a MS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA (PGPX) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). He received his bachelors degree in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University. Prior to joining HBS, Adi was a manager at a leading management consulting firm and has worked on multiple operations excellence engagements in the US and India.
