Zeshawn is a doctoral student in the Accounting & Management Department. His research uses archival and field methods and covers managerial accounting topics including employee and organizational incentives, cost management and profitability analysis. He is especially interested in how firms use both formal (i.e. incentive contracts) and informal (i.e. organizational culture) mechanisms to motivate performance and support organizational goals.
Zeshawn graduated with high honors in 2004 with a B.S. in Accounting from Michigan State University, where he spent two years as a student teacher of introductory managerial accounting. Following graduation, he worked for General Electric, Water & Process Technologies, first in their Financial Management Program and then as the lead financial planning analyst in their Ionics Equipment group.
