“The people at Harvard Business School make it a truly unique place to work. I am constantly challenged and feel as though the people I work with continually push me to build my knowledge base and strive for excellence.”
I was already in the Harvard organization (at Harvard Kennedy School and prior to that at Harvard Medical School) before coming to HBS. Through peers, I would hear about the innovative projects and initiatives HBS was doing in the web and digital space. I was extremely attracted to the School's direction of implementing an enterprise web content management system and the business processes that they had in place to manage their web portfolio. I felt that coming to HBS was the perfect next step in my professional development as I took my prior experience in web content management and web marketing to the technology side to understand more about web development and production. I initially joined the HBS Web development team as a Web Program Manager and then later transferred to the Marketing & Communications team into my current role as Director of Interactive Marketing.
Before joining HBS, I worked at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) managing the School's web communications. In this role, I lead efforts to create standards of practice and guidelines around web publishing, and defined web implementation strategies across HKS.
Prior to my work at Harvard Kennedy School, I was the Internet Publishing Manager at Harvard Health Publications (HHP) at Harvard Medical School. Managing HHP's web products, I was responsible for the creation of text and interactive health content for our online licensees. In this role, I managed the relationships with HHP's technical partners and oversaw the development and implementation of HHP's content repository and publishing system.
As illustrated by my previous work experience, Harvard has provided me with several opportunities to grow and expand my career. I have had the pleasure to work with phenomenal people who have invested in my personal and professional development.
The people at HBS make it a truly unique place to work. I am constantly challenged and feel as though the people I work with continually push me to build my knowledge base and strive for excellence.
Outside of work, I am an extremely active person. In the winter, I spend most weekends snowboarding, whatever mountain I can get to (my favorites are Sugarloaf and Killington). In the warmer temperatures, I'm an avid runner.
HBS has amazing professional development opportunities. From discounted classes (taught by Harvard faculty) at Harvard Extension School, observing an HBS MBA course to experiencing the Case Method in action, or attending a lecture or panel discussion on leaders discussing the most probing issues facing the world today, being an HBS and Harvard employee is a stimulating and rewarding experience.
