After 25 years at Harvard, it is difficult to remember exactly how my career has developed, but I have had 7 different titles in three major parts of Harvard (FAS, Central HR and now HBS). In addition to learning from fabulous managers and colleagues, I have used the tuition assistance plan (TAP) to complete a law degree at Suffolk Law School and to attend dozens of classes and developmental activities. Harvard is the type of employer where you learn something new every day.

I consider it a privilege to represent an institution with such a strong history of excellence and innovation with a deep commitment to its mission of education. And the people are unsurpassed — staff colleagues, the faculty, students — such a wonderful group of individuals who care about their roles and to the organization. And, the icing on the cake is that as a working mom, it is a supportive environment where ties to family and commitments outside of the workplace are met with enthusiasm, interest and flexibility. And don't worry, it isn't all as serious as it sounds. We have a special culture where yes, we work hard, but we laugh, celebrate successes, enjoy each other, and realize our collective energies are more powerful than any one of us.

What makes HBS different from Harvard University? Harvard University is a special place, but HBS is unique in its close connection to the world of business and social entrepreneurship. Our faculty performs research on current business issues; our students come from and are returning to today's world of work; the visitors to our classrooms are engaged in leading some of the most influential organizations in the world; HBS alums lead more of the Fortune 500 organizations than any other alumni base. With that much business acumen in the air, we run the School with a focus on accountability, innovation, respect for everyone's contributions, and a focus on providing the best possible service level. It is the best of both worlds — the pace and energy of business in a beautiful campus setting with the excitement of carrying out an intellectual agenda.

I invite you to take the time to explore our website, read about our employees, our commitment to diversity and our community, and connect to the wonderful culture that embodies working at HBS.
