HBS offers a select number of outstanding scholars an opportunity to join a vital intellectual community with powerful traditions of excellence in research and teaching.
Here are some considerations to keep in mind as you explore the doctoral programs:
- Admitted students have well-defined research interests, excellent academic records, and exemplary letters of recommendation (preferably from faculty).
- Neither master's degree nor work experience is required, though some candidates have some work and/or research experience in business prior to entering the program.
- HBS doctoral programs prepare individuals for careers as professors of management. Usually, an MBA is sufficient preparation for individuals planning to work in industry.
