Steve Charnovitz is an Associate Professor of law at The George Washington University Law School. Before joining the Law School faculty in 2004, Professor Charnovitz practiced law for six years at Wilmer Hale in Washington, D.C. He was previously director of the Global Environment and Trade Study (GETS) at Yale University and the policy director of the U.S. Competitiveness Policy Council. He has written extensively on international trade law, multilateral environmental governance, the International Labor Organization, and the role of civil society in international affairs. Professor Charnovitz is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the American Law Institute.
