Allen Grossman is the MBA Class of 1957 Professor of Management Practice. Professor Grossman focuses his research on how mission driven organizations achieve high performance. He co-founded and co-chaired the Public Education Leadership Project, a joint initiative of Harvard Business School and Harvard Graduate School of Education. The project, founded in 2003, works with leadership teams from urban school districts to advance academic performance through improved leadership and management. He currently teaches a second year MBA course he developed, Leading and Governing High Performing Nonprofit Organizations. Before joining the Harvard Business School faculty, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Outward Bound USA. He received a B.S. in corporate finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
