MBA applications dropped 1,000. It was clear that at that time we were in financial trouble for the first time.
I couldn't get the numbers in place. We didn't have a control system. I went to Dick Vancil and I asked him to build a system so I knew where we were financially, in the institution.
So initially, the idea of not growing in '71 was rooted in the recession that was starting.
