"The Business School," Donham wrote, "being the only foot-free department in Cambridge, should be lifted bodily out of its existing surroundings and developed as an entity. The development of Business School dormitories for at least 350 men should precede the construction of classrooms and administrative buildings if both cannot be accomplished together.

"I am so convinced of the importance of this whole matter that if we were offered the choice between the two types of buildings, I should personally not hesitate a moment to choose the dormitories."
