Ralph James on the "choreography" of the Executive Education programs
Transcript
Well, there is a purpose to the choreography, and it is highly choreographed, the whole delivery of executive programs, and pretty much anything else that happens around here. And it sort of goes back to leveraging the faculty, and making the educational process as impactful as possible. That's what the school's all about is impact. And if you can get everything set up so that people have nothing to worry about except what happens in the classroom, and sort of how they're going to deal with all that happens in the classroom when they're out of the classroom, so that they don't have to worry about is their computer working, or how do you get from here to there, or where's my laundry, or where am I going to eat? All that sort of stuff. When you can take care of all that, people learn more, and the faculty are more effective. And ideas come into your head that wouldn't otherwise if you're cluttered with all sorts of other stuff.
So the Jackie Baughers and Kathy Vennes of the world, who have been running these programs for decades, work very hard at making sure that everything is in place, and everything happens for a reason, and there is no -- nothing left to chance.
