API Watch Request Configuration
Watch Accessibility Settings: Allow the multi-tasking button to always show API Watch as the first result: Open ‘Watch’ app on iPhone (main Watch settings application - black icon with watch in center) Click Dock Change ‘DOCK ORDERING’ to ‘Favorites Click Edit in top-right and ensure API Watch is the only app under ‘FAVORITES’ Always show API Watch app on screen raise: Open ‘Watch’ app on iPhone (main Watch settings application - black icon with watch in center) Click General Click Wake Screen Check ‘Wake Screen on Wrist Raise’ Check ‘Wake Screen on Crow Up’ Uncheck ‘Auto-launch Audio Apps’ Under ‘ON SCREEN WAKE SHOW LAST APP’ Check ‘Always’ Set Watch Complications (icons on watch face home screen) Recommended watch face is ‘MODULAR’ If MODULAR is not an option on the watch, go to the iPhone Watch Settings app and app Modular to ‘MY FACES’ Force-touch (hard-press) watch face while on home screen Click ‘customize’ on MODULAR watch face Tap center long square and scroll crown until ‘API WATCH’ is selected Alternatively, tap an additional complication square and scroll to ‘API WATCH’ Click the crow twice to go home When the Icon that was just added is tapped, the API Watch app will open API Watch App Faculty Settings: Set watch button settings: Open API Watch App on iPhone Click ‘i’ in top-left Set Watch Button Title to ‘Call’ or whatever desired Make sure Watch Debug is unchecked Click back arrow at top Set watch API settings: Open API Watch App on iPhone Click ‘+’ in top-right Select an unused tab (1-4 at top) Enter in the API URL (ex: https://secure.hbs.edu/calltool/rest/token/session/calcWinner ) Select API method (most likely ‘POST’) Enter in the appropriate token (string of characters – no quotes, token only) Select body type (text/plain) Test API Call before by clicking ‘Test’ button Ensure response is expected Click ‘Close’ on bottom-right When ready, click top-left back arrow Send configuration to watch: Once watch button settings and watch API settings are configured correctly, from the API Watch home screen click the big blue ‘Send to Watch’ button. If successful, the response will be green ‘Ready!’. Errors include an invalid URL entered in the API configurations or a watch error if no watch is connected to the phone. Note: https is required due to Apple request guidelines. Joining the Beta: Anyone with an iPhone running iOS 11.0 or newer can join (watch is optional) Download Apple’s official Testflight application: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/testflight/id899247664 Click the open-beta link and join/download: https://testflight.apple.com/join/3T9kQ5VG Once the app is feature complete, it will be available on the Apple App Store for public download.
